Our latest gear upgrade includes an interface step up from the Fast Track Ultra : the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R.
We haven’t even begun to explore what the Fast Track Ultra can do for us in terms of portability [USB powered for notebooks, etc]. But we have decided to retain it as an option to record from places other than home base. The Fast Track Ultra 8R has everything we need for client specific drum miking and such. Plus a new set of features and setting that were not available in the overall package we were happy with when we got his little brother.
M-Audio Fast Track Ultra – This interface’s specs are unbelievably robust for this box’s diminutive size.
Major upgrade to our old Echo Layla 20 which served us well through a ton of old projects. Originally opted for a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB but the store bringing in the interface only had models way above my ideal price range. Got the FTU instead (we decided to spend a little more so we wouldn’t have to worry about an upgrade anytime soon).
